Audio Agent

Drum & Bass / Jungle
From St. Louis, MO
Audio Agent is a drum & bass and jungle DJ and producer from St. Louis.

Audio Agent is a St. Louis native bringing drum & bass and jungle to Frequency. Before he got heavily into dance music in late middle school and early high school, he was all over the map: Hip-Hop, Rap, Soul, Funk and even some Rock. A little bit of everything.

He’s been at this a long time. The most surprising compliment on his set came from Logistics, when he opened for him at Melody Inn back in 2005. He still produces tunes on occasion, too.

Behind the decks, he reads the room: if people look bored or tuned out, it’s time to push the energy and dynamics up, and if things feel like a little “too much,” he’ll dial it back so the crowd can decompress. Catch Audio Agent at Frequency, and check out his mix below.

In Their Words

What were you listening to before you found this music?

Before getting heavily into dance music genres in late middle school/early high school, it was mainly Hip-Hop, Rap, Soul, Funk and even some Rock. A little bit of everything, to be honest.

Do you produce, or is it all about the mix?

It’s been a while, but yes, I do produce tunes on occasion.

Who's the most surprising person to ever compliment your set?

Logistics, when I opened for him at Melody Inn back in 2005.

How can you tell whether a crowd wants more energy or less?

Usually I’ll try to see how many peeps are looking bored or tuned out, which means maybe it’s time to increase the energy and/or dynamics. On the flip side, if the crowd is looking overwhelmed, anxious or like things are a little “too much,” then I’ll try dialing the energy level down some so they can decompress.

What's your favorite spot in your city outside of music?

All of my favorite spots in STL involve music to some degree at the moment.
